The new Huawei Ascend 7 is a beauty outside but what’s it packing? Here’s what’s under that hood :
Screen and display: The Ascend P7 has a bigger 5 inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels, compared to the P6’s 720 x 1280 pixels 4.7 inch screen.
Weight and dimensions: Very light at 124 g, only 4 g heavier than the P6, and is 139.8 x 68.8 x 6.5 mm, making it slightly longer, wider and thicker than the P6 with its 132.7 x 65.5 x 6.2 mm body.
CPU, OS and processor: Both the the Ascend P7 and P6 run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) but the P7 has a quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A9 processor, better than the P6’s 1.5GHz processor.
Storage: With P7 you get 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, expandable to 64GB with a microSD card. The P6 is left in the trash here with its 8GB internal storage and no microSD slot.
Camera: The Ascend P7 has a 13MP rear camera (with LED flash and autofocus capabilities) and an 8MP front camera, perfect for video calls and selfies, an upgrade from the P6 Â with its 8MP rear camera and 5MP front one.
Colours: Both the Ascend P7 and P6 come in black, pink and white.
Battery: The P7 packs a 2500mAh battery, while the P6 has a 2000mAh. All I’m saying is Huawei needs to pay more attention to battery lives. You would probably get 2- 3 hours of use in both phones. Read more about the Ascend P7’s predecessor, the Ascend P6, here.
Price: The Ascend P7 is currently being sold by Zamtel for K2,999 while MTN is selling the P6 at K2950, according to their online shop today.

Conclusion: We recommend the phone entirely for selfie lovers. Others on the go who like to exhaust their phone battery by using all their apps may invest in a mobile power bank too if they decide to buy the P7.
