To apply, African candidates have to be a team of 2/3 individuals with at least one of them enrolled in an African university or a recent graduate from 2014  or 2015 from an African university.

Their ideas should be business plans befitting the African market, ‘be operationally feasible, be innovative and contain relevant financials’  and  they could win over $75,000 in prizes, part cash part investment and in-kind awards. It will also offer the winning teams a chance to network with early stage investors, experienced business professionals and successful entrepreneurs even from the judging panel, which consists of many eCommerce leaders from the Africa Internet Group (under Rocket Internet) such as Kaymu, HelloFoods, Jumia, Lamudi and Zando.

3 winners will make it to the final round and will be flown to Cape Town, South Africa to pitch their ideas in front of the public at the Entrepreneurial Festival where the final winning team will then be announced.
