  • Sensitization of customers is ongoing.
  • K10,000 is the daily maximum transfer limit and it will cost sender less than K10.
  • Service available on USSD and mobile app from Monday 30th April 2018.

The bank, which has been promoting the “Growth” Campaign under Hashtag #Kula, which is expected to be a new beginning in the way it would serve its customers, as it pursues its journey to become the top transactional bank in Zambia by 2020.

“We relooked at our responsibility to the people in communities that we serve, as well as to the people of Zambia. We decided that we are going to be relevant in your lives by being your preferred and trusted partner in growth. It is no wonder, therefore, that we are committed to supporting you, our communities and the nation of Zambia to grow,” said Zanaco Board Chairperson Ms Charity Lumpa.

“This marks the real beginning of our execution of our commitment to being your partner in growth. We believe that for meaningful growth to occur, one transforms from being ordinary to achieving greatness in whatever they do.”

‘I am urging everyone to join Zanaco. Make the switch. I am sending you the signal!”

Ms Lumpa said the bank had recently seen a lot of transformation in the way it does its business and serves customers, including the launch of digital channels and newly designed branches that enhance customer experience. Zanaco Managing Director and CEO Henk Mulder said the bank’s aspiration to be the top transactional bank was based on its modernization of services and the development of digital platforms.

Recently, the bank launched its mobile app, which has recorded over 55,000 downloads in five months. The bank has also improved its internet banking platform, and enhanced our Xapit USSD platform, which has doubled the number of customers. At the launch, the bank also displayed its new feature on its mobile banking platform, called Xap Me. With this feature, Zanaco customers using our mobile banking platform will now be able to transfer money to any person with a valid Zambian mobile number. The recipient of the money will be able to redeem the cash from any Zanaco Xpress agent. So far, this feature has been rolled out to Zanaco staff on a pilot basis before it is launched to the public soon. The bank also displayed its new internet banking portal that improved the utility of internet banking. Transactions available on the new internet banking are own account funds transfers, in-house transfers (transfers to Zanaco accounts), domestic transfers (transfers to interbank accounts), access to statements and RTGS payments. New additions are swift payments of up to us $5000 and bill payments.

“We realise that, in order to meet our customers’ evolving needs, we have to be modern in our delivery of banking services. As a progressive bank, we are moving with time and creating strong digital platforms that characterise modern banking. We created a dedicated digital department that is driving our robust digital banking platforms,” Mr Mulder said.
