Instagram hits 400 million users!
In a blog post, photo sharing app Instagram has shared that they have reached 400 million users worldwide.
They also stated that over the past year their among their last 100 million new users of Instagram, more than half are from outside the US, coming from Europe and Asia mostly.
Instagram’s blog also stated, “When Instagram launched nearly five years ago, 400 million seemed like a distant dream. Now, we continue to strive to improve Instagram, helping you experience the world through images and connect with others through shared passions.”
It looks like the app’s growth won’t slow down anywhere soon, as more people are getting into the habit of sharing more pictures than words, after all, a picture does say a thousand words. We’re seeing more pictures with maybe 5 hashtags than 300 word captions.
Instagram knows this too, admitting that “visual communication makes the world feel a little bit smaller to every one of us”, which is true seeing how many people we can say we ‘know‘ or what places we’ve ‘visited‘ with our eyes, just by looking at profiles…
You can download Instagram on iOS, Android and Windows devices.
