Viannect Insights: Finding Your Brand’s Voice

If your logo didn’t appear with your content, could your audience identify it? Would someone viewing your content on multiple channels know it all came from the same brand? If you’re not deliberate in your branding you could end up with various assortment of voices and tones on your content on various platforms in your marketing ecosystem. This will mean that your content will not provide a consistent picture of your brand.

Why is brand voice important?

You may ask why having a consistent brand voice is important, shouldn’t it be more important to make your content sound relevant and more human? It is simply a consistent voice that enables your brand to be easily identified.  A consistent brand voice and vocabulary can help your organisation implement localised and intelligent content strategies more effectively.

How to find your brand voice

Your target audience is key when it comes to finding your brand voice. How do they speak, and consume information, and how can you meet them there? So, firstly you must understand your target audience. Secondly, describe your brand voice in three words; ask yourself, if your brand was a person how would you describe its personality, the first three words are your brand’s voice. Define each one in detail and see how they come across in your business’s communication to the audience and in the content it creates.
