iPhone 6 Set to Launch in June

The bigger the better right? Well Apple took that statement and we expect a bigger phone from them with the iPhone 6. By the way, who knew Apple had this much of a following in Zambia? The number of people with Apple products, be it iPhones, iPods, Mac Books and such is just surprising compared to less than a year ago. Anyway, heads up because the iPhone 6 is now well on its way. Here’s a quick review of what to expect when it launches sometime in June.

It will be slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, the iPhone 5, and a 4.7 inch screen. The device may also have a 0.4mm “side-view type LED,” which is 0.2mm smaller than the iPhone 5s’ LEDs. However, some sources claim there might be two sizes set to be released so we’ll just have to wait and see. There will be a standard iPhone 6 model with a 4.7-inch or 4.8-inch display at a full HD 1920×1080 pixel resolution, and a larger phablet variant with a 5.5-inch display using a 2K QHD resolution at 2272×1280 pixels.

So if you’re insecure about having your phone raided by strangers or nosy friends, the iPhone 6 will make life less stressful with its Touch ID fingerprint scanner that only responds to your fingerprints to unlock your phone. There might also be a facial scanner, (which is present on the Samsung S5) for facial recognition to unlock the iPhone 6.

Other features worth noting are that it will be running on iOS 8 and A8 chip (meaning a faster processor)  with a 2GB RAM. With storage sizes ranging from 16 to 128, you can choose what suits you. The battery is expected to be 1800 mAH, disappointingly.

The camera is not all that impressive with only 8 MP on the rear camera and not 12 or 16 MP as previously suspected, and 3.2MP on the front one. Just when you hoped taking pictures would become more exciting! Anyway, they have promised to tweak their camera so we might just be in for a surprise.

So, seeing as Apple sold more than 9 million units of the iPhone 5 and 5S in their first weekend of availability, let’s hope they will make a product as highly demanding as that when it comes to the iPhone 6.
