Google+ is getting a makeover

Google+ has been one of the hardest social platforms to take off and become that popular, even though it has over 1 billion downloads on Google Play Store alone. They have announced some changes based on consumer feedback over the year such as allowing users to comment on images, to join Gsuite, increasing features for Community moderators, and are now including 3 more changes:

  1. Hide low-quality comments: users will be able to choose to see the comments that matter most by default and can see the rest by choosing to ‘see all comments’ in the menu tab (3 dots)  at the top right of the screen on the mobile version.

2. Image zoom: Google+ increased the size of images on the timeline to allow users see less white space and are now adding a zoom feature to enhance the view much more.

3. Google+ is bringing back Events: which allows users to create and follow events near them or around the world, but Events will not be available for Gsuite users at this time.

“With this latest round of updates, we believe the new Google+ is really your Google+ – designed around your suggestions, requests and needs. It also means it’s time to say goodbye to classic Google+ on the web, which we’ll be turning down on January 24. Just because we’re bidding adieu to classic Google+ doesn’t mean we’re done working on the new one. Our aim is to make Google+ the best place to connect around the things you care about.” – Google

Expect to see changes to Google+ over the next few weeks.
