Airtel Zambia expands its footprint and opens another 7 new shops in 5 Provinces
In a bid to continue offering affordable and easily accessible products and services to customers across the Country, Airtel Networks Zambia PLC has opened an additional seven new shops bringing the total number of stores to 35 across all ten provinces.
The new locations are in 5 of the 10 provinces which include two shops in North Western Province, another two on the Copperbelt, and one each in Central, Luapula and Northern provinces.
11 other shops were opened 4 months ago as Airtel’s commitment to bring its products and services closer to its customers for a greater customer experience as well as have quick and easy access to services including digital financial services through Airtel Money.
The new 7 shops are in the towns of Mwinilunga, Kabompo, Luanshya, Chililabombwe, Kapiri Mposhi, Nchelenge and Luwingu.
And speaking about the newly opened 7 shops, Airtel’s Sales and Distribution Director Andrew Chuma said it was always an exciting time to make reality what customers ask for. Mr. Chuma said with the onset of the pandemic many customers were eager to get connected electronically to their loved ones as well as use their phones to pay for many goods and services hence the need to have easily accessible customer service points.
“We are living in very unsual times and many customers want to be connected to their loved ones using mobile connectivity. It is therefore important for us in the telecommunication sector to help customers access these facilities easily and the opening up of another 7 shops helps in bringing these products and services closer to the people,” Mr Chuma said.
Adding: “Our goal is to complement Government’s efforts in realising the National 2030 Vision to enable all Zambians have universal access and usage of a broad range of quality and affordable financial products and services such as the Airtel Money services.”
The 7 new shops have been opened simultaneously today by the Zonal Business Managers in low-key ribbon-cutting ceremonies, given the current COVID-19 restrictions.
With the largest 4G 100% network, Airtel will continue to connect Zambia’s people to each other.
