Celebrating #GirlsInTech: Jesinta Esther, Senior Server Engineer – Smart Zambia.

Her thoughts on girls and tech in Zambia:

“It’s believed that some technology/ICT courses are just for men or rather boys. We need to know that we are all intelligent whether men or women.

It’s just what are fed up and told off that’s what makes girls think that some courses are just for boys. This has to start from our homes. If your parents or guardians believe in you, not even the sky is the limit.

Zambia can help by early identification of talented girls in schools and encourage them by providing scholarships and even competitions in such technology courses. As such it will make them work extra hard in those subjects and they will not intimidated by boys.”
