Fix problems on your Samsung Smart printer with the new SPDS mobile app

As long as you have the Samsung Smart Printer you can diagnose its problems with the new Samsung SPDS (Smart Printer Diagnostic System) app straight from your mobile device.

Once you install the app from Google Play Store/Galaxy Apps, you can first get permission and approval from Samsung Electronics to access their server database, which has all the manuals and information you may need to correct the fault in your Smart printer. The app connects users to the SPDS server which is the storage centre for Samsung’s official service manuals, technical information, educational videos and real-time notifications for software updates for Samsung Smart MultiXpress models.

It includes easy-to-read visual guides that make even the least techie user able to use the app to find out their printer’s problem in just a few minutes.

“SPDS is an organic component of Samsung’s philosophy guaranteeing high quality in everything from product development to maintenance,” said David SW Song, Senior Vice President of Strategy Marketing and Sales, Printing Solutions, Samsung Electronics.

How it works

Once your printer develops a fault, a notification is received by your mobile device which has the app installed, to notify you. It then automatically connects to the SPDS server and gives a visual or guides to correct the fault. If you’re big on saving time and money, this is a great tool to sort out one less problem without having to hire a guy off the street or a presumed ‘expert’ who may have little or no knowledge of how Samsung’s Smart printers work. You have better chances of getting legit information from the horse’s mouth (app?).

According to Samsung, ‘early adopters have praised the tool for addressing the issue of inconsistent service that can result from service engineers’ varying levels of expertise and knowledge. They were satisfied with the fast and accurate service provided.’

Smart printers are yet to be launched in Zambia so for those planning to get one, you can get the app in advance. Not that you’re planning for the Smart printer to fail, but you know, just in case.

SPDS is available for download from Google Play and Galaxy Apps in 51 countries, and is offered in 9 languages including English, French, and German.
