MTN Zambia Digitizes Mpatamatu Secondary School in Luanshya
MTN has a new vision, a vision to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world. Under its Corporate Social Investment plan, MTN Zambia has undertaken the initiative to digitize schools in the country. This is being demonstrated by the recent commissioning, which took place on February 10, of a computer laboratory at Mpatamatu Secondary School. The computer lab is equipped with 35 computers and internet connectivity.
The initiative which is being called the MTN New World Connection will see the company donate computers to schools, equip them with internet as well as provide other ICT infrastructure. According to MTN Zambia Chief Executive Officer Abdul Ismail, “MTN Zambia’s Corporate Social Investment focus is on education with an emphasis on digitizing schools.”
Apparently, this is also in line with the Government of Zambia’s vision to have every pupil at secondary school level acquire basic computer knowledge.
