Starting today, you can now create emoji hashtags as shown above in the picture, on Instagram. You can even search for and explore the same emoji hashtags in your app search bar to find other people using it. For example, you can search for # *smiley face* as shown in the image below, and see all the users who shared that too. Clearly 14,776 posts were happy ones! With the amount of smileys sent on social media in Zambia we expect this to be a very welcome move.
Instagram has also added 3 new filters called Lark, Reyes and Juno. In its blog, Instagram said that the filters are ‘inspired by weekend adventures outdoors, Lark, Reyes and Juno are a family of modern, subtle filters that brighten and enhance your photos in refined, beautiful ways. Lark desaturates reds while punching up blues and greens to bring your landscapes to life. Reyes brings a dusty, vintage look to your moments. And finally, Juno tints cool tones green while making warm tones pop and whites glow for vibrant photos of people.’
If you’re adventurous and have a knack for photography and art, this is perfect for you. Expect many more updates from Instagram as they stay the number 1 photo sharing app used in Zambia, in collaboration with its owner Facebook.
The updated Instagram app is available for iOS version 6.11.0 in Apple’s App Store, and also in the latest version of Instagram for Android, 6.20.0, in Google Play.
