“Conquer without compromise.” Just reading those words made me want to whip out my imaginary credit card and impulsively buy the Alienware 18 laptop from the Dell webstore. “Never settle forever” is the slogan you will come across on the Alienware homepage. These people must know my commitment issues otherwise how in the world are they speaking directly to me like this?! I kid.

Calm down, Dell is speaking to millions of other people who visit their website that are more likely to buy the product than you. Just saying. Isn’t it that we have been cultured as windowshoppers rather than buyers? If not, then how come we never get all these gadgets imported which are out-of-this world in Zambia? Where is the demand? I think that there aren’t enough gamers in the country. Otherwise, what would be the explanation of Zambia not being listed on the PlayStation Account creation list. Anyway, I digress.

Rather than Console gaming, we are talking PC gaming today! Specifically Alienware Laptop gaming. PC Mag places the machine at the top of the list of 10 best gaming laptops and it’s not even the most expensive on that list. As opposed to desktops which might give that extra boost to gaming, laptops are a convenient choice because of their portability. If you are an avid gamer then you will totally agree.

Additionally, the bigger the screen size the better. Ideally, we are looking at 15 inches to 18 inches of display area. The Alienware 18 in this case takes home the prize, packing an 18.4 inches, 2.8 GHz of Intel Core i7-4900MQ processing, Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M SLI graphics card, 1250 GB storage, 32 GB RAM, Windows 7 or 8 platform, and weighing 5.45 kg. The high-end components tend to drain battery life, don’t expect these gaming rigs to stray too far from a wall socket very often.

Owning this ginomous laptop will definitely show off how deep your pocket is for splurging on gadgets. Retail price starts at $2,099 (approx. K12,000). While the cheapest of the best top 10, Lenovo IdeaPad Y500, retails around $1,049 (K6000).

As long as you settle for the best gaming graphics card out there like an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M or AMD Radeon HD 8870M plus at least a third-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU, then you should be golden. One doesn’t necessarily need to break the bank in order to have the best gaming device, they just have to be smart about it. For instance, build your own heavenly gaming machine fully customized to your nerdy taste.
