DStv’s Zambezi Magic is switching channels

As part of its hyper-local focus and ongoing commitment towards bringing the best in locally-produced content to audiences in Southern Africa, Zambezi Magic will move to DStv channel 162 on Monday, 1 April 2019. The switch to a new channel number will make Zambezi Magic available to a wider footprint across Southern Africa to enable audiences from the Fish River in the south to the great Zambezi in the north to enjoy the best mix of locally produced content.

This move comes just in time for viewers to enjoy the slate of new and returning shows ranging from comedy, telenovelas, reality and everything in-between. The drama never ends on Zambezi Magic: the hit telenovela Zuba continues to enthrall fans in Season 2, whilst the perils of plural marriage reach fever pitch after Nguzu’s sixth wedding in Mpali. Thabo and his college friends are confronted by unforeseen circumstances that will keep viewers intrigued in Pages, not to mention the trials and tribulations of the ongoing family feud over inheritance in Season 4 of Third Will.

The countdown to the the highly anticipated season of Our Perfect Wedding Zimbabwe has officially begun – the show features an engaged couple gearing up for their big day and will premiere on 18 April at 21:30. Weekends at leisure involve Zathu Season 2, a lifestyle show that provides deep insight into modern and traditional aspects of culture, food and entertainment. And for those in need of light relief, Season 3 of Security Guard continues to have audiences in stitches in the sitcom based around the Tizadyanabo security firm.

Timothy Okwaro, Channel Director – East and Southern Africa Channels for M-Net mentioned that Zambezi Magic remains committed to its promise of bringing viewers quality shows to enhance their television viewing pleasures. “Since the birth of the channel in 2015, Zambezi Magic has grown from strength to strength by working with local producers to share Southern Africa’s stories in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Malawi and Swaziland.”

Zambezi Magic will launch on the E36 satellite platform in order to cover the entire Zambian footprint. This will result in universal access, making Zambezi Magic available to DStv subscribers in Luapula, Muchinga, and the northern areas of North-Western province from 1 April 2019. “We’re particularly proud of this channel launch in other parts of Zambia because our priority remain making great content accessible and extending the reach of this channel by launching it on the E36 satellite – we ensure that even more of our customers will have access to this channel that delivers stories that our Zambian viewers have come to love,” concluded the Southern Africa Regional Director of MultiChoice, Nyiko Shiburi.

    Comment *but that Chanel number 162 is not found in compact bouquet…what will happen to us who subscribe to that bouquet?

    • The channel will automatically be included on our decorders come 01/04/19
