Sony PS4 Goes on Sale

Sony’s latest gizmo is a fire-cracker console loaded with cool new features. But dig this, no more you worrying about downloading your favourite games or the next sequence in your favourite series, you will now be able to play a game before it finishes downloading. How cool is that? No more you worrying about your ‘unlimited’ data connection running out or your internet connection abruptly disconnecting you.

 

Other features to look out for on the console are an 8-core x86 processor, a 500GB hard drive, a Blu-ray/DVD drive and 8GB of GDDR5 memory. In the box is also a new DualShock 4 controller with touchpad, as well as the new PlayStation 4 Eye — if you willing to pay an extra $59.

 

For online/multiplayer features of games, the PS4 requires a PS Plus membership currently priced at $49.95 for 12 months. There is added premium features such as automatic system and game updates, 3GB of cloud storage, access to additional game trials, betas, demos and the ‘Instant Game Collection’.

The PS4, like previous consoles, will also support apps like Amazon, Netflix – which might come in handy if you travel to work/holiday in a region where they are offered.
