Press Release: MTN partners with Zambeef for mobile money payments

MTN Zambia, the leading mobile operator in Zambia and ZamBeef Plc the largest integrated food retailing brand in Zambia, will join forces in a strategic partnership.

The joint venture, will have a strong focus on delivering custom-made MTN solutions across all ZamBeef outlets countrywide and will benefit from the scale, combined expertise and market access of both companies, to provide a strong basis to compete in an ever-evolving business environment.

MTN Zambia is the largest mobile operator in Zambia, and utilising the resources and capabilities that it provides, both MTN and ZamBeef customers will be able to enjoy relevant, accessible and easy to use products and services. Commenting on the partnership, Charles Molapisi, Chief Executive Officer of MTN said

MTN Zambia will provide Mobile money services across all ZamBeef outlets allowing customers to pay for any products and services provided by ZamBeef using their MTN mobile money accounts as well as deposit and withdraw cash. Other services to be offered by the Telecoms giant are voice, data as well as security services which will include CCTV and access control.

Yusuf Koya, Executive Director of ZamBeef remarked that “The partnership with MTN, the only one stop shop for enterprise solutions in Zambia will create new revenue streams for both companies, help achieve significant scale, explore opportunities in new markets and segments, and capitalise on the growth of mobile services in the country. The partnership will also allow us to further extend our client focused vision for ZamBeef across the country.”

The provision of MTN services will be rolled out in 120 sites in all 10 provinces with the pilot outlets being in Lusaka.
