Samsung announces assistance to existing Galaxy Note7 users, puts customers first

Samsung Electronics holds customer safety as an absolute priority and is therefore implementing the below referenced countermeasure to ensure that there are no incidents arising from the use of the Note 7 in Zambia. The company has announced that it will assist all customers who have purchased the Note 7 from the market through a replacement program.

Through a process that will be managed by authorized Samsung Electronics service partners, Samsung shall be communicating with customers advising of how and where to take their Note 7 handsets for replacement. Current Galaxy Note 7 users are kindly advised to visit the nearest Samsung Authorized Service Centre for immediate assistance.

On September 2, 2016, Samsung had announced an official Galaxy Note7 replacement program due to a rare battery cell manufacturing error which had led to a few reported incidents.

Although the Galaxy Note7 has not been released in Zambia, Samsung recognizes that some consumers may have purchased their devices out of country and is working towards assisting these customers.

In a statement, the company announced that “since customers’ safety is our top priority, all Galaxy Note7 purchased are eligible for replacement despite the original place of purchase.”

We acknowledge the inconvenience this may have caused in the market, but this is to ensure that Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to Samsung customers. Samsung is completely committed to fixing this problem and ensuring the highest level of safety and satisfaction for its customers.
