The New Instagram Updates

Instagram has had so many updates the past few years but this has to be the biggest change because they have cut the size of the app to half what is was and packaged it in a way that makes it faster to process and load pictures and videos on all types of Android devices.

The photo/video sharing app has a revamp of its interface. The Instagram 5.1 update has had the buttons simplified. Instagram wrote on it’s blog saying “we’ve simplified our visuals throughout our app, making use of valuable screen space for small devices and feature phones and rearranging our design to keep buttons within easy reach as you navigate the app on a larger device’.

The blue strip that we are so used to seeing when a picture/video was loading has now been replaced by a spinning grey circle.

Another change is the darker blue colour which the app now has and it had us wondering if this isn’t some Facebook influence seeing as Facebook owns Instagram.

Earlier this week Apple users had their iOS Instagram version updated ‘which packed a small, but useful change to Lux Effect, as users will now be able to use a slider on the Lux Effect feature, which strengthens or softens a photo’s filter to create the most visually-appealing shade. The effect can be enabled by tapping the sun icon after taking a photo with the Camera app or selecting a photo via the Camera Roll. The Instagram iOS app previously applied the effect automatically, but the new version, 5.0.6, gives users the opportunity to control the feature’, according to Design & Trend.

So there you have it. Almost the same old Instagram, but sleeker and faster.
