Instagram’s New Update is a Photographer’s Heaven

Instagram came and took Zambia by storm especially for Android and iOS users and it was mainly for the edits that were available to enhance pictures or videos. Every so often we get updates from the various app stores and this week was one of them.

What’s new? More options with regards to filters. Currently the filters available are  Normal, Amaro, Mayfair, Rise, Hudson, Valencia, X-pro II, Sierra, Willow, Lo-Fi, Earlybird, Sutro, Toaster, Brannan, Inkwell, Walden, Hefe, Nashville, 1977, and Kelvin. You now have a chance to choose what filter you would like to use as well as how intense you want the filter to be. For example of you choose the Lux filter, you can decide how intense you want it to be on a scale of 0 to 100.

There’s also a new Tools icon that looks like a tiny spanner just above the filter types available that you can also use to add more edits to your pictures.

These 10 new edits are Straighten, Brightness, Contrast, Warmth, Saturation, Highlights, Shadows, Vignette, Tilt Shift and Sharpen.

This is a great update because now you do not need other photo editing apps to make amends to your photo before you post it on Instagram with an additional filter.

It seems Instagram is doing its best to stay relevant as a leading photo sharing application because so many are springing up. It’s also  trying to take the market share of photo editing apps by providing all these options so that users don’t need to use other apps.

We expect a lot of people to take advantage of this new update so thumbs up. Good luck with the bundle consumption though. Instagram is one app that uses up a bundle fast so make sure you have enough to go photo sharing crazy!
