Airtel Money partners with cattle wealth management

In line with the 7 th National Development Plan where there is a deliberate re-emphasis on the importance of the livestock sector, Airtel Money has partnered with the Cattle Wealth Management Firm where customers can make payments for the livestock via the Airtel Money service.

Speaking after a field day held in Chibombo, and attended by various Zambian entrepreneurs and would-be buyers/investors of livestock, Airtel Money Director, Mr James Chona said Airtel was pleased to be part of the push for financial inclusion.

“This partnership comes in at a time when the Nation is pushing for more products and services to be made available especially in the rural areas thus incorporating the unbanked populations,” Mr Chona said. “As stated in our 7 th National Development Plan, there is need for an acceleration of ICT development through innovative products and service to effectively and efficiently support the economy and diversification aspirations.”

The partnership will enable Cattle Wealth Management to use Airtel Money to receive payments for the sale of cattle and use the bulk payments service to pay the farm workers. Cattle Wealth Management is a Zambian Company based in Chibombo area which facilitates for individuals to be cattle owners and ranchers through the provision of 24-hour expert livestock management services on the company’s farms.
